Materials we trust
How we build
Pavers that stay flat through Canadian winters.
Interlock heaves and sinks when water gets trapped in a shallow, dense base, freezes and expands. We excavate 12 to 18 inches and rebuild with clean, open-graded stone so water drains through instead of freezing under your pavers.
It takes more time and material. That’s why most contractors skip these steps, and why our work stays flat for years.

Paver installation questions, answered.
Why does an open-graded base matter?
Water is what ruins interlock in Montréal. A dense base holds water, which freezes, expands and pushes pavers up, then settles unevenly in the spring. An open-graded base (8–14 in of compacted 3/4 in clear gravel over geotextile fabric, topped with 1 in of 1/8 in clear stone) has open gaps between the stones, so water drains straight through instead of freezing under your pavers. That’s what keeps a driveway or patio flat through the freeze-thaw cycle.
What paver brands and materials do you use?
Techo-Bloc for all our pavers, slabs, retaining walls and steps, and Alliance Gator for joint sand, resin-based sand, Gator Base, edging and turf products.
What’s included in the free design consultation?
An on-site meeting about your plans and a few design options, then a second visit 2–4 days later with 3D renders, final options and pricing.
How long does a typical project take?
Most projects take 2 to 7 days on site. Larger projects, like a full backyard with pavers, walls, lighting and turf, can take 2 to 4 weeks. We give you a schedule for your project at the design consultation.
When is paver installation season in Montréal?
We build from April to November and book the coming season through the winter. Booking a consultation early gives you the widest choice of build dates.
Which areas do you serve?
Montréal’s West Island: Pointe-Claire, Kirkland, Beaconsfield, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Dorval, Baie-D’Urfé, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and L’Île-Bizard, plus Vaudreuil-Dorion, L’Île-Perrot, Saint-Lazare and Hudson.
Is my installation guaranteed?
Yes. Every Urban Edge paver project comes with a 3-year guarantee on the jointing material and levelling. If the joint sand fails or your pavers settle or shift out of level within three years, we come back and make it right. We’re also RBQ licensed, carry $5 million in liability insurance and have full CNESST coverage.
